Every town has a building people stop seeing. In Grove Hill, Alabama, it was the old laundromat — a place that had washed a generation’s worth of work clothes and church clothes before time caught up with it. The machines were long past their prime. The concrete underneath them was worse.
That’s where Titus Commercial came in.
Then, the build
With the site cleared, we started fresh: the old floor cut out and excavated, forms set and concrete walls poured for a 36-inch trench, new utility rough-ins sized for modern commercial washers, and a new slab designed for a business whose whole life is water. Laundromats are unforgiving buildings — dozens of machines vibrating on the floor, hundreds of gallons moving through the lines every hour, customers walking wet floors in every season. The structure has to be boring in the best way: solid, level, drained, and dry where it’s supposed to be dry.
From there, the buildout is underway right now — and soon comes our favorite day: when the new machines roll in. That part is our home turf: as a commercial laundry equipment company, we don’t just hand over a building, we spec, install, and stand behind the washers and dryers inside it.
What it means
A laundromat is not a skyline-changer. Nobody puts one on a postcard. But in a town like Grove Hill, a clean, modern, reliable laundromat is infrastructure. It’s where people without a washer at home take care of their families. It’s a business that stays busy in good economies and bad ones.
We’re taking a tired corner of town and handing it back better than we found it — the new store is on track to open in mid-August — and we’ll be there for the life of the store with parts, service, and support. That’s the job. That’s always been the job. Watch this space for the grand opening.
